A day in the life of Miz Carla

Studio Tour Part 2

Now, we're in the 2nd half of the studio. I've got a little white enamel topped table holding all of my little cart things that hold my most used things.

My work area. I love having the big shelves over the clothes racks in here :D can stuff lots of stuff up there.

More built ins on this end house some pretty art stuff, my pens, paints, and other things I use often.

Lots of inspiration hanging above my work space. It's so tight in that half of the closet that I can't get a picture of the whole table at once.

I can't wait to get in there and mess it all up SOON!

Studio Tour Part 1

For the past week I have been bizzy bizzy cleaning, painting, purging and cleaning out my big closet within a closet artroom. Tonight I finally finished and snapped a few photos while it is actually clean to show you. I also busted out the tape measure to see exactly how big this closet was. It is 7 feet wide and 16 feet along...only 3 feet slimmer than my little portable building studio that is lost forever still at the old house. I'm pretty impressed that I got everything in here and still have room to turn around! The key to my success was my handy dandy collection of vintage suitcases.

Finished Canvases

I've got 13 of the little boogers compltely finished :D yippee!! Now, to get them up on ebay this weekend.

I hope the pictures look ok on your screens. They look awful on mine. I wish I could figure out how to get a better resolution on this new monitor. (insert huge sigh here).

One little two little three little canvases etc. etc. :D

Here is my progress so far on the little canvases. I'm taking a break to watch American Idol in a few minutes, but hopefully I can finish several of these tonight.

The Big Catch-Up

The family and I had a good time on our staying in a cabin that was just like staying in our own house camping trip. We spent time together, and relaxed a bit which are always good things. I have to laugh because we picked up a monopoly game in town while we were getting all the junkfood supplies we'd need for our stay, and playing monopoly w/ the kids was the highlight of the whole trip. I'm so lucky to have these munchkins around to help me remember how much fun being a kid is. It isn't the computer games, PS2s, gamecubes, or Nintendos they'll remember about their childhoods it's the BOARD GAMES and spending time with their parents.

The other day I went and straightened up the flea market booth. I really need to go in there after hours and paint that ugly green wall. I wish all of you could see this place in person. The owner has it fixed up sooooo cute and she makes the neatest things to sell.                                                                         

I'm working on a bunch of little 4x4 canvases today. I have 30 painted and ready for collage. These will be my first offerings for ebay via the art squared category. At first I was a little daunted by their small size, but now I'm comfortable with it and amazed at what all I can get onto their itty bitty surfaces.

I've got a million things I'm supposed to be doing, so I'm gonna hush now and "git to it".
