I tried and tried and these are the best night photos of our Halloween house that I can get. I finally found a soft flash setting on my new camera, so at least it doesn't look daylight in the photos.

I had the girls in the surgery room last night

they finally got those horribly ugly ORANGE eyeballs taken out (which was *very* traumatic for both them and me). You gotta get a glue stick hot w/ a lighter, poke it deep into her eye...let it cool and then YANK the eyeball OUT! Once it is out you can glue the pretty new one in.

Don't they look pretty now? They assure me the pain was worth it!

I *HAD* to share this pic of my "real" girl Chloe being super silly!

I'm in a fantastic book round robin with some very talented gals. We each are to do a front page and a back page. One of the pages has to include a pocket...and then we make a piece of art to put in the pocket...so, the owner of each book not only has pages from every participant, but also a cool piece of art or jewelry. I did this for Miz Andi Hinkle's book--I hope she likes :D

The rule of this meme is to name five things I would like to be when I grow up – five things that I’ve always dreamed about. 

1) The first thing that pops into my mind is ROCKSTAR! If I could still fit into the tight leather pants, and stay up all night--being a rockstar is something I might still like to do.

2) Martha Stewart This one is so "obvious" but wouldn't it be fun to be just like her? Lord knows I try--but she must have way more hours in the day than I do.

3) Stand-up comedienne. I could *so* do this :D my kids are always telling me I should enter the funniest mom contest on Nick.

4. World traveler I used to really *hate* to fly, but a couple of years ago my fear of flying just phased out. I would love to be able to Jet to Paris, Greece, Rome, Ireland and Florence picking up little treasures in antique shops and flea markets all along the way.

5. Best Friend I've always had friends (bless their hearts for putting up with me) but I have never had a true blue BFF. Someone who is a big part of my life...loves my children and likes doing things with them, brings me chicken soup when I'm sick, helps me paint the house and lets me help paint her house... that kind of thing.

The middle-name game

I was tagged by my friend Deb...and to her I send my sincerest apologies for being so tardy with this. Big hugs to you Deb!!!

You have to post these rules before you give the facts. Players, you must list one fact that is somehow relevant to your life for each letter of your middle name. I have always hated my middle name-. It's not that I despise the name Ruth..it's that it doesn't go well with Carla (which I had no choice on either--as my Dad's name was Carl) It was my mother's middle name, and her mother's before her. It has been a tradition that the first born daughter would have the middle name of Ruth. If I hear *anyone* say CARLA RUTH I know I am in big big trouble.

"R" is for "Rowdy" I tend to get a little over excited at times.

"U" is for "understanding" I am one of those who just "gets-it" I can seem to relate to everyone on some level.

"T" is for "tenacious" :D

H" is for "hard-headed"

I'm supposed to tag four people--but since this has been going around awhile and I've been out of the loop--please let me tag any of you who haven't played yet.

What's that sound?

It's the sound of ANGELS singing! My *huge* diningroom project is finished!!!! HALLELUJAH! I'm kind of missing the vintage wallpaper and the lighter floor tiles, but now it looks much more "today" and Lord knows this new floor is easier to clean! Next.. I tackle the removal of flowerie wallpaper from my poor little boy son's room.

and here it is now. That hanging light will soon be gone. I'm going to replace the ceiling fan w/ one that has a light. I never understood why the diningroom light was placed there ...oh and those curtains?? They'll be gone soon too. I had to take them down to paint, and when I did I noticed they were filthy--so I washed them and they SHRUNK--well the curtain part did, but the liner part didn't! I'm considering all kinds of options at the moment, as that big picture window is a really unique size.

The Halloweenies are starting to make their appearances. Here is the girl wearing Daddy's new Gorilla mask. You should see our yard :D hehee lots of new zombie family members this year--pics... just as soon as I can get some good night shots.

I'm changing direction on the Collage Cat Blog (big surprise :D hehee). I'm having to chase art and artists and I don't like doing that--sooooo instead I'll just be adding stuff that I think is cool as well as pointing readers to interesting things.

I need help beefing up the blog/shopping/etc... links so if you've got one you'd like to see included please leave the URL in a comment here.
