Oh dear

so much for my resolution to post on this thing everyday--sheesh, it's been nine days. I've been dealing with some stuff...Chloe had a tummy ache, sore throat and general ickiness last week, then she broke out in what I thought might be chickenpox (but thankfully wasn't) then Friday JJ started hurling and hasn't stopped since. There is nothing on earth worse than sick helpless kids (except maybe a sick helpless husband). Chloe went to school this morning, but there were tears and pleas to come and get her out early. I don't know what is going on there...I've talked to her teacher several times in the past week and nothing seems to be out of the ordinary--I think that long weekend last week just got miz thang into "hanging-out-at-home" mode. Say a little prayer for us please.

To perk things up a little I have a give-a-way for my Blythe lovin friends. I took some really cute pictures of my girls and have some extras that I would like to share. They are 4x6 and will look adorable framed.

Photography school

this morning I was looking through a shuttberbug mag and saw an ad for  web photo school I visited the site, liked what I saw and signed up for 3 months (only 25.00). There are some great lessons on areas I need help in, and I thought maybe some of you might be interested. If you visit the link check out the free lessons posted there.

Yesterday we finally had a sunny day, so I dressed up all the gals and took them outside for a photo shoot. I signed up for a really cool Blythe photo swap and needed some fun artsy shots to send to my partner in Malaysia. I'm happy to report that I got some great pictures. It is sunny again today, so as soon as it warms up I'm heading back outside.

Another give-a-way

up for grabs this time is a mixed media assemblage on wood that I titled "Sea Maiden". I actually love this piece, but it is clashing BIG TIME in my shabby chic casa..so please if it speaks to you and you dig the colors leave a comment and I will "throw your name into a hat". I'll do the drawing on...Monday January 14th. I'm sorry gals, but due to mailing costs and my lack of enthusiasm for filling out customs forms I'm going to limit the drawing to US residents only.

 

She'll be going to her new home completely ready-to-hang and enjoy :D

Good Morning everyone

I'm having "thoughts" for breakfast today. My friend Jen Worden posted this link on her LiveJournal this morning and called it "instant eye candy" I couldn't agree more! You can type a date in and see amazing photographs taken all over the world in nanoseconds...Of course I promptly forgot about the morning's chores and have been happily feeding my eyeballs instead...this lead me to thinking about how many different ways there are to be creative. There are some people out there doing really amazing things with their choice of tools and mediums. It just makes me happy to know there are so many more flavors out there than just chocolate or vanilla. You know what I mean??? One of my favorite finds of the morning was THIS incredible, yet modest photographer- (definitely worth the clickety click I promise) wow, talk about instant inpiration!

I have to go to "town" today and I don't wanna

Last weekend I bought the kids 2 new pairs of shoes for school. We didn't discover until yesterday morning as we're getting ready for school that one of the boyz pairs had two right shoes...so back to the store I gotta go to right that wrong (hehee).

I'm not doing so great on the new years resolutions..I've yet to pick up a camera, and just noticed that I missed a day of writing here. I'm probably boring the three of you who stop and read here to death :D

I'm dying to play in the art room. I had planned on doing that yesterday, but got to looking at the carpet in the den and decided to bust out the steam cleaner--that took ALL day! Then I *had* to watch the LSU tigers game instead of just recording it for mr big daddy--can I just say GEAUX TIGERS? They were awesome!

enough procrastinating--I'm off to do my thang!
