I am one super*proud*mama san

I'm proud of my babies every single day, but this afternoon my proud-meter shot through the roof! We had our awards ceremony and both JJ and Chloe did very well!

Mr J got a trophy for ALL As all year long, an A/B honor roll certificate and 45.00 cash for great ileap test scores!

Miz Chloe also got a trophy for ALL As all year long, a certificate for A/B honor roll and a medal for accelerated reading.

AND... if that wasn't enough to be happy about....my big boy son drove down from OK today to spend the weekend with us!

Before I forget...I wanted to invite all of you to my live journal where I'm challenging myself to post one pic per day for a whole year. So far so good, and I'm having a lot of fun--maybe I can talk some of you into playing too?

Will you dance the HAPPY DANCE w/ me?

  What's the occasion you ask? Well dearies Big Daddy SURPRISED me in the biggest way last Thursday. He come home w/ this little beauty...

It's the Canon Rebel Xsi that I have been coveting! Is she as sweet as I had hoped? YES and more! Of course it's been cloudy and dreary here since I got her, so I haven't gotten to fully experience her features yet...but I am in LOVE! Thank you thank you thank you honey--you are the absolute BEST and I love you!

I ran around snapping photos of things in our home to show you guys (I love it when you all do show and tells)  some of the things you will see when you come to visit us ;)

this will greet you once you step inside. Can I confess to you that it's taking all of my restraint to NOT pull off all of those pretty crystals and make art out of them?

See how dark and dreary it is? I love the way this window looks when there is no sunshine shining through it.

my purse :D yes I'm 12! I gave little Miz Chloe every opportunity to own this bag, but she turned her nose up. I thought it was way too cute to leave at the store.

This is where I chat w/ all of you.

Books, DVDs, games, photo albums, magazines, crayons and coloring books...these are a few of our favorite things. That poor old fake Ficus tree has got to go...many a kitten has chewed and scratched on it.

You can't live in Louisiana without having several fluer de lis in your decor. This is a hobby lobby find and I love it--it's made of tin!

Another must-have southern thing--some shabby chic roses from my FAVORITE flea market in Glenmora--Reggies!

This cabinet is where I keep all of my Blythe stuff. The girls live in the box w/ the domed top.

I think it's time for bigger sleeping quarters!

the last stop on my little tour is a lamp that sits near my desk. It's a nice catch-all for my favorite jewelry and my name tag from Artfest 2005 (dang has it been that long ago?)
