Exploration of Identity #4

You might know me as the Collage Cat, Mama Cat, Zinecat, the lady with the cat-like eyes, or the Crazy Cat Lady next door. No matter what you call me, I LOVE and collect cats! When I saw my daughter's 'cat ear' headband lying on the bathroom counter I thought hmmmmm. With hair still damp from an earlier bath, and not a lick of make-up on I ran to my bathroom mirror and gave myself a feline makeover. I think my new look suits me purrrrfectly. No laughing or I'll spit, hiss and maybe even bite you.

I (heart) shiny things!

I'm in a ya-ya state of mind

I am just now getting the chance to read the ya-ya book and I'm loving it! I had started this book a couple of weeks ago, and then got sidetracked when I found the house (which by the way now belongs to us woo hoo--we'll close on December 15th, more on that in a bit). Anyhoo I'm digging this book and it's accurate depiction of the ladies of South Louisiana. I'm inspired and loving my southern boys and girls even more these days.

Back to the house...in one picture you will see an awesome antique king-sized rice bed...that now belongs to me :D we bought it along w/ several other pieces of furniture that are already in the house. I'm so excited!

I'm sleepy so I will bury my nose in my book for a bit before drifting off into a blissful tylenol pm induced coma :D

S T R E N G T H

My first time to participate in Illustration Friday The theme was Strength this week, and I immediately thought of the old trees in my front yard that have withstood several hurricanes. Their sturdy branches help keep the wind off of our house, and in the summer these majestic beauties supply us with endless shade. I LOVE my trees. 

Keeping in spirit with what I.F. is all about I doodled this.
