The family and I are headed north a bit for a few days surrounded by Nature. I'm taking my drawing stuff, and am going to try and tap into something during the quiet times :D

I found the fatbook page I posted in my last entry out of it's envelope, on the floor with the bottom left corner chewed completely off. Mr Joey (the mini-pin puppy from HELL-just kidding, he's really adorable--he just has a 'little  chewing problem) knocked the envelope off of the table, chewed his way into it and the plastic bag I had the pages in then proceeded to eat the page with the little girls (leaving the other with the dog on it alone lol). I freaked at first, but ran into the studio and made this new one, which I actually like better. Faith--I will put these in the mail tomorrow (the fastest way possible to Canada), so you will get them in time.

Not much else going on here. I wasn't feeling too hot yesterday, so I mostly napped and slugged the day away. The Youth Rally on Saturday totally wiped the kids and me out. We all feel better today, but decided to stay close to home and just chill instead of doing the few errands we needed to do in town.

Tomorrow--I'll do everything I put off today tomorrow. I NEED to find the newest issues of SStudio and Cloth Paper Scissors--I have nothing to inspire me!! Also need to pick up some of the basics, more paint, gel-medium, gesso and all that fun stuff you gotta have to play art. I've been having dreams where I see myself painting on huge wall-sized canvases. The art is a total mixed media mess and I love it. Must try and get down on a smaller canvas what I'm seeing in my head.

I was telling my friend Marie that I feel "ruined" by the stuff the I've bought. The letter stickers, the cute tape measure border stickers, the pretty pre-made papers...they ALL mess up my creativity and make me a lazy artist. Grabbing something ready made is just too easy, and my art is suffering. I've had the most fun working on the altered Barbie Dolls, so I'm thinking I should just do those until I am sick of them, and then move onto something else that both amuses and challenges me.

I could 'yack' all day, but I must go get dinner going, and then I've  got an appt. w/ a box of Clairol :D

Fun Friday

I PLAYed all day long! Managed to squeeze in a few loads of laundry, and bathing the kids, but other than that all I did was make art all day long. Here is a fatbook page I finished for a friend. In the kitchen I've got an assembly line of barbie dolls all awaiting various stages of altering. I love doing these dolls, but they take FOREVER! I'm also working on more cans to hang in my studio, so that I can keep all these little things neat and away from curious little peepers.

Tomorrow I won't be home all day. The kids have a youth rally to attend, so hopefully I can finish up my projects Sunday evening.

I'm *so* stupid

I closed my personal website down and got this typepad account thinking I would be better about updating it (NOT). I've realized the older I get the more I fit into that dumb-blonde category. I can't remember anything, can't focus, and basically can't pull my head out long enough to concentrate on what needs to get done.

From this day forward I'm going to make a conscious effort to do better :D I just wanted to let you all know that I am alive and well...and busy making ART.

Here is a page I finished for a fatbook one friend is putting together for another--got three of these to get done tonight.

My friend Emily will be here in a little while. We are going to go straighten our flea market booths, make them pretty and add some more stuff. I'll snap a few pictures while I'm there, I haven't shown you guys the newest space I moved into.
