Waving Hi to Shari and Maija who very sweetly wrote to me asking if I was ok. It's nice to be missed :D I'm fine, have just been super busy with some swap stuff that I signed up for. I'm also working hard on a 'secret project' that hopefully will be ready to go live soon. I'm still having trouble tweaking the logistics of it, but am making progress--I'll let you all know when it's ready.

We adopted two new baby kittens last Saturday. J named his kitty MAX, and we named Chloe's Kitty BOO. They are adorable-but so very BAD! Sadly, we had to put our white bunny rabbit to sleep on Wednesday evening. The poor thing had a hernia (and icky gaggy stuff was going on) and the vet said it's nearly impossible to operate on bunnies and that they usually died from the anesthesia--it was very sad, and we will miss our sweet friend. RIP Flash the white bunny. I will share pics of the kittens just as soon as they slow down long enough for me to get a picture of them.

I made some charms for a another charm swap but could not get a decent picture of them to save my life. Here is the least crappy one of the bunch. I took apart some plastic chrystal Christmas garland, found words from a vintage storyboo, and glued them onto the front of the charm. I hope the other girls like them.

Speaking of picture-taking. I'm all but consumed by my new cameras. I am loving the Holga and have bought lots of new filters and other fun things for it--AND I scored a great SLR camera like one Jeff and I used to have (and loved, but that I dropped and broke) on Ebay for a soonnngggg woo hoo! The best part was that it was completely outfitted, so for a little $$$ I got a new camera and several lenses and filters too. I am so inspired!

That catches you guys up on my boring (but busy) life.

The mail fairy was good to me today!

Lucky me received pretties in the mail from two of my favorite people today! The cool postcard is from Miz Tiffani X (all the sentiments right back at you ten-fold girlie!), and a really really sweet tin box (and faboo moo card) from Miz Maija. I love it, and am so tempted to stick my no-no cigarettes in there  :D but I won't I promise--it will hang in my studio and look beautiful!  Thanks so much girls-you both made my day!

I apologize for the crappy scan--I'm afraid my much-beloved (5 year old) scanner might be on it's last leg. I have two newer HP ones but they are awful and take really gross scans of art. What's up with that anyway? It's like the new all-in-ones have great printers, but really bad scanners.

A Potter is born

Chloe received her much-coveted pottery wheel for Christmas and last night things had finally settled down enough to where I could help her put it together and supervise the first throwing of the clay (and it's a good thing!). She and her brother had a great time w/ it, but they made a *huge* mess! I'm thinking this might be more of an outdoor hobby (duh).

Here she is concentrating so hard on her artwork, and modeling her lovely pink scarf w/ silver threads that our art bud (and fellow potter) Misty so graciously sent her. I know I didn't tie it right --I'll have to go study your pictures and see how you did it. Thank you so much sweet girl...you made Miz Chloe's first pottery experience extra special.
