Another doll dress and a new sewing machine

I wanted to let you all who may be in the market for a new sewing machine know about the bargain I found at Wal-Mart. I found it on clearance for 139.00 and it has a lot of cool features (which you can read about HERE)

My Kenmore was giving me fits w/ the bobbin thread knotting up and I finally just said ENOUGH and replaced it! I was able to get one last funky little Blythe doll dress out of it, before officially disowning it :D

I keep getting this weird "pouf" around the neck--not sure what's going on there, but I'm SURE it's the old machine's fault! hrmmpphhh!

am off to the beauty shop to get my Elvira hair lightened up and whacked off. Wish me luck.

I'm so happy that they found good homes!

Did you guys happen to see my new tile floors in those pics? I'm still not finished putting the new floor down, and in addition I thought I'd be cute and start pulling up the carpet in Miz Chloe's room *AND* start pulling the wallpaper off in JJ's room. Aye yi yi!

Last night I got a wild hair and decided to dye my hair really dark brown (I think I am unconsciously punishing myself for starting all of these "BIG" home improvement projects on my own). I liked it ok... it's dark but it's not horrible. In the light of day I freaked out a little and started whacking on it with really sharp scissors. This afternoon I ran to the salon and Miz Carolyn told me that the color was good-she liked it, but thinks it would look better w/ chunky highlights. She can give me a new style to camoflauge the damage I inflicted on myself. She also informed me that I was very lucky that my hair didn't turn green. Take notice blondes....if you put an ashy shade of brown over blonde hair you're very likely to end up with a freakish shade of green instead. aacckkkk I shudder to think! So....tomorrow I will go get the color tweaked and get quite a bit of hair whacked off too. For my Blythe-loving friends I look like a big Midevil Mood doll! :D

Chloe's 8th b-day and VBS day 1

Chloe had a blast during her 3 day birthday extravagaaaanza! Day one we shopped for big girl stuff until I nearly dropped and daddy's credit cards burst into flames. Day two her little friend came to spend the night...they played in the pool and played every game we own. Day three we went to see Ratatouliee--which they loved, but I nearly fell asleep watching.

Buh-bye ugly tile

here's what I've been doing since Thursday...ripping up the ugly tile you see in this picture, and putting pretty new tiles down in this room and my kitchen.

Unfortunately I'll have to lose this pretty bird/floral wallpaper--as it so does NOT go w/ the new floor. I'm going to paint the walls either a dark chocolate brown, or a greyish green...still undecided. I'll be sure and show you how it turns out.

This week is going to be a busy one. We've got Chloe's birthday on Thursday (must have the tile job finished by then). Instead of one big party she has three days of fun planned. Sometime during that we'll have to go and decorate my classroom for VBS. I have the 1st graders this year. I'm a little nervous as I've only taught the craft classes before--this will be my first "real" bible school teaching experience. Wish me luck, or better yet say a little prayer for me.

On the 26th the kids have their testing done so they can return to school. We've got practice test books that we've got to study before then--sheesh reading this is depressing me, and I'm sure if you've read this far you are ready to gouge your eyeballs out w/ hot pokers.

WHEN does project runway come back on? I have nothing decent to watch on TV.
