I'm writing in hopes that this message will get to you before your scheduled arrival to my area early next week. I realize that you are traveling as I type this, but am confident you'll get this message before you reach the Yucatan Penisula (and hurricane status)...that'll give you plenty of time to turn around. It's not that you're not welcome please don't get me wrong, your beneficial rains are needed in certain parts and your cooling winds would be most appreciated. All I'm asking is that you come in nice and quiet like. No one likes an over rambunctious hurricane, in fact we find it downright rude to bust in on us with those crazy 100+ mph winds. We just don't see a need for all that. Also, if you wouldn't mind terribly...could you please leave the electric alone? I know you feel your best with lots of heat, but us peeps don't function well in mid 90s temps with 100% humidity and no air conditioning.
If you do insist on becoming a hurricane and blowing in at a cat. 3 or bigger I will be forced (by big daddy) to load up the children, grammy, dog and five cats and go to Oklahoma. I *really* don't want to have to do this. In fact leaving my home at all would be most detrimental at this point as I've really been "in the zone" creatively these past couple of days. My house is clean and we had plans to spend our Holiday weekend just vegging out in front of the TV. Gustav please take all of this into consideration.
humbly yours
Carla Naron and fellow Louisianans
who just want to enjoy this 3 day weekend instead of preparing for your arrival!
PS if you see Hanna out in the gulf could you please pass my message along to her as well? Thank you!
