Who or what inspires some of the artist people that you know? I know I'm always curious about things like that, so with that in mind I'm going to share with you one of my all time favorite blogger/artist/flea market gals. I absolutely love this woman, she inspires me to make pretty things with junk, and to really get creative when decorating flea market vingettes. Go now child and visit SASSY TRASH and later you can come back and see what I've got to show you... go ahead, go now...you won't hurt my feelings :D I insist!
Did you see those gorgeous tin flowers she made? If you didn't get that far yet.. .click on the following...
CARLA'S I N S P I R A T I O N pretty huh? Well I didn't get anywhere near as fancy as she did but I did have fun and think my little flowers came out cute. I've got enough to wire into a garland to hang in my flea market booth, and I turned the rest into little ornament-like-things. When I ran out of the vintage jello mold things I cut the bottoms out of regular aluminum soda cans and then cut grooves with my tin-snips to create flower petals. Super easy!
I also wanted to mention that I put up an album full of all the cards I received from a recent swap I hosted, the link is in the upper left corner of the blog, just click on the picture and it'll take you to the whole album. I'm planning on doing another "open" themed swap due in early October (I'll be posting details for that soon if you're interested in joining.)
In other news, not a whole lot going on..the kids and I are back to our "schooling" and they are being wonderful little students, also I decided to bite-the-bullet and go ahead and rent myself my very own space in the flea market. It'll be a job to keep it current, but I'm bound and determined to "make it work" --just like my Guru Tim says. If you are interested...I'm using my junque blog to chronicle my flea market adventures. If you are looking for flea market booth inspiration...may I direct you to my friend Tina's blog.. lots of eyecandy...go visit and tell her Miz Carla sent ya Screen Doors & Spindles.
Thanks for visiting--come back and see me!
