I've been thinking. A LOT. When I'm in thinking mode, I make lists. A LOT of lists! Today's notebook session provided big clues as to where my interests lie these days. It's all about the kids and the house! In fact, I was telling my friendMaija in an email the other day that my interests have been steadily shifting from making art to fluffing up the nest and fixing up flea-market finds. Check out my links on the left and you'll see what I'm talking about.
I'm busy working on our upcoming year of homeschool's curriculum. Last year we used a program that included everything, and it was good, but it moved too quickly and well frankly, it was B O R I N G! Towards the end it got really tedious, but now I can look back and be glad that we did it, because it gave me the confidence to homeschool on my own. After all who knows my kids better than I? No one! I would really be interested in corresponding w/ more homeschool moms, so if you are one or know of someone who is I'd love to become friends, so I would have someone to talk about this with. I'm working on a homeschool section for this blog..bless typepad's little heart...with my plan I can have up to 3 or 4 blogs (I forget which). So if you are interested I'll make that blog live as soon as I get it loaded up with educational goodness.
Speaking of the munchkins...boy are they growing! JJ grew 4 inches this past year, and Chloe nearly 2!! Here's a little digital page I created tonight with photos I took of Chloe last summer. I can't wait to compare them with the pics I'll take of her this year (if it ever quits raining!!) Oh!! Speaking of digital, I absolutely can NOT wait for my friend Marie's class to start! Woo hoo! It's only because of Marie that I even know how to open more than one picture in my Photo Shop Elements program!
I thought it would be interesting to put my top 10 list of summer goals out there in hopes that you'll share your lists with me!
1. No more pre packaged snacks--My kids are eating way too much junk food and I've got grocery store receipts that equal a car payment to prove it!
2. Less TV, Computer and Playstation 3 time please. I'm bringing back family game nights and book reading!
3. Learn to play Pokeno and or Bunco and have the girls over for a night of fun, and prizes.
4. Book photo sessions with friends and get my "Look Book" completed. It is time to hang the "open" for business sign.
5. Purge the stuff! I want to have a huge yard sale before school starts back up in August. I'm going to be cleaning and pricing stuff as I go so it's not as big of a job come time to put it all outside. This yard sale will be more of an "event" than a yard sale.. I've got big plans :D
6. Get everything organized. A home with a place for everything and everything in it's place is a happy home.
7. Find new recipes and splurge on a few new kitchen gadgets. I'm so BORED BORED BORED with our meals, and sorry big Daddy, but i'm sick-to-death of BBQ!
8. Be more productive when it comes to blogging--sheesh this is the dullest blog in the whole world!!
9. Share the LOVE. Make and send pretties to friends old and new!
10. R E L A X and enjoy--turn off the worrying and fretting!
What are your goals for this summer?
tell me...Miz Carla wants to know.
